It’s been three months since Senior Underwriter Millie Lamden-Kerr joined MS Amlin Insurance. With the year-end fast approaching, we wanted to find out how she’s doing, her experience working with our award-winning digital platform, and what it’s really like to be part of the UK team.
I’ve been in the insurance industry for over 10 years now and have worked as an underwriter in the agricultural sector for almost all of them. Before I joined MS Amlin here in the UK, I did all my risk analysis on manual systems. I loved the process, but I’ve got to admit… it’s been three months, and I’m already a digital convert!

I grew up in rural Herefordshire, so I know there’s nothing 9-5 about farming and agriculture. That brings me to my final point. One of the things I’ve found truly special about MS Amlin Insurance UK is the way they serve and support people.
It starts with feedback. Every year, the team conducts a company-wide broker survey to find out what’s working for our clients and what we can do to improve (more on that in January).
They welcome team feedback too. I’ve only been here a few months, and already I’ve had several of my suggestions implemented. My responsibilities have also increased, and I’m proud to be leading a whole team of specialist underwriters. I’ve always been passionate about mentoring others and building strong, diverse, and inclusive teams.
Now I get to do it every day.
